Fae NPC of the Seelie Court
Seelie Fae have just one "True Self"; this is who they really are in their heart of hearts at all times. They also have four Facades (what their personality appears to be on the surface); one to wear for each season. Each of these Facades remains the same every year, so if a Seelie Fae appears to be a Leader this Spring, they will surely be a Leader again next Spring. These seasonal shifts in personality can catch those unfamiliar with the Fae off-guard, but those who have known them for many years have long-since grown accustomed to their friend's "eccentricities."
True Self (Permanent): Benefactor: You have a bounty of riches, or some other resource, which you feel compelled to share. You are happiest when you help someone by providing something no one else around you can.
- Facade during every Spring: Obsessive-Compulsive: You always stick to your routine. Routine is safe and efficient. You are happiest when your insistence on sticking to your routine turns out for the best.
- Facade during every Summer: Trickster: Your antics do more than amuse; your pranks and tricks are meant to teach someone a lesson, or humorously, but deftly, reveal some wisdom. You are happiest when your acts reveal wisdom that would not have been realized by more traditional means.
- Facade during every Autumn: Haunted: For some reason, you want to leave your past far, far behind you; though as hard as you try to forget it, the past will forever haunt you. You are happiest when you shake aside someone/something that reminds you of your past, and do so without negative consequences.
- Facade during every Winter: Wanderer: Settling down is just not your thing. You're running away from something, and the road is your home. You are happiest when you complete your purpose in one place, and move on, leaving no loose ends or attachments behind.
Fae NPC of the UnSeelie Court
Unlike the Seelie, an UnSeelie Fae has more than one "True Self"; they have four. These remain the same during that season each year. Unlike a Facade, which is just an act put on for the benefit of others, these True Selves are who the UnSeelie really is at heart during that particular season. UnSeelie also have a Facade for each season, but it almost never remains the same from year to year. They randomly take on a new Facade every time that there's a change of season. This truly makes the UnSeelie the most unpredictable of creatures.
True Self every Spring: Hedonist: Live for today, because tomorrow may never come. You are happiest when you have a great time, and could care less if something important got neglected in the process. - Spring Facade this Year: Curmudgeon: You're irascible, and cynical and vocally so. Joy and laughter? Bah, humbug! You are happiest when someone does something stupid, as you predicted that they would.
True Self every Summer: Rogue: Screw the world! You do what you need to look out for yourself, and get done what has to get done. If someone else suffers in the process, that's just too bad. You are happiest when your self-centered methods gain you something of significant value. - Summer Facade this Year: Judge: You are an arbitrator and peacemaker, acting as a fair voice in conflicts. You are happiest when you separate the truth from lies, or successfully mediate a conflict.
True Self every Autumn: Hedonist: Live for today, because tomorrow may never come. You are happiest when you have a great time, and could care less if something important got neglected in the process. - Autumn Facade this Year: Headgamer: People fascinate you, and you love to see the many ways that they react to the situation which you've so carefully set up for them. You are happiest when you learn new ways to manipulate people from some "experiment" you've performed on them.
True Self every Winter: Judge: You are an arbitrator and peacemaker, acting as a fair voice in conflicts. You are happiest when you separate the truth from lies, or successfully mediate a conflict. - Winter Facade this Year: Thrill-Seeker: The stakes are just never high enough. More adrenaline, please! You are happiest when you willingly enter a life-threatening situation, and then escape it.
