Fae NPC of the Seelie Court
Seelie Fae have just one "True Self"; this is who they really are in their heart of hearts at all times. They also have four Facades (what their personality appears to be on the surface); one to wear for each season. Each of these Facades remains the same every year, so if a Seelie Fae appears to be a Leader this Spring, they will surely be a Leader again next Spring. These seasonal shifts in personality can catch those unfamiliar with the Fae off-guard, but those who have known them for many years have long-since grown accustomed to their friend's "eccentricities."
True Self (Permanent): Thrill-Seeker: The stakes are just never high enough. More adrenaline, please! You are happiest when you willingly enter a life-threatening situation, and then escape it.
- Facade during every Spring: Show-off: You are flamboyant as hell, and love to be the center of attention. You are happiest when you dazzle or impress another person.
- Facade during every Summer: Needy: You absolutely crave the approval of your comrades. You are happiest when you are genuinely praised for a feat you accomplished by yourself.
- Facade during every Autumn: Optimist: You can always see that silver lining, despite the dark cloud looming in front of it. You are happiest when your conviction that all will turn out for the best gets the group through-and it turns out that you were right!
- Facade during every Winter: Hedonist: Live for today, because tomorrow may never come. You are happiest when you have a great time, or manage to fully express your enthusiasm for life.
Fae NPC of the UnSeelie Court
Unlike the Seelie, an UnSeelie Fae has more than one "True Self"; they have four. These remain the same during that season each year. Unlike a Facade, which is just an act put on for the benefit of others, these True Selves are who the UnSeelie really is at heart during that particular season. UnSeelie also have a Facade for each season, but it almost never remains the same from year to year. They randomly take on a new Facade every time that there's a change of season. This truly makes the UnSeelie the most unpredictable of creatures.
True Self every Spring: Predator: The fittest survive, and you're pretty damn fit. You are happiest when you hunt and kill another creature to ensure your survival. - Spring Facade this Year: Critic: Everything has a fault, and you will find it. You are happiest when you point out a significant flaw in something.
True Self every Summer: Waif: Whether you are or not, you have the appearance of being innocent and weak, and you haven't quite learned to act on your own without relying on others' pity. You are happiest when you accomplish something important without anyone's help. - Summer Facade this Year: Masquerader: You enjoy pretending to be what you're not, and may be doing so to hide from others-or yourself. Particularly, you try to hide your true supernatural identity. You are happiest when you resolve a situation without anyone finding out that you're a supernatural being (or, depending on the situation, the type of supernatural being that you are, rather than the one you're pretending to be).
True Self every Autumn: Critic: Everything has a fault, and you will find it. You are happiest when you point out a significant flaw in something. - Autumn Facade this Year: Sycophant: You're the perfect toady, doing whatever you can to please more powerful forces so that they'll protect you. When in doubt, ask yourself "What would Renfield do?" You are happiest when you please your master.
True Self every Winter: Jester: You are the fool, the comic, the smart-ass, who's always looking for the humor in a situation. You are happiest when you lift someone's spirits, or ease their pain with your humor. - Winter Facade this Year: Fanatic: You have a cause, or maybe the cause has you... You live, eat, and breathe this cause. (Pick one). You are happiest when you accomplish something which furthers your cause.
