- a grandfather who is hoping to find a sword—a magical one he believes is somewhere in the dungeon. The party should care because he secretly or overtly controls a powerful faction in the dungeon.
- an androgynous philanthropist who wants to stir up dissent within a faction of jackal-headed warriors this person believes is occupying the dungeon. The party should care because this person is an (average PC level + 2) wizard with their mojo working … so if the party fails to help them enough, this person may kill them all.
- an elven actor who intends to consecrate as many of the dungeon’s altars as he can, since these mean everything to him. The party should care because he is in a position to offer the PCs a sizable monetary reward once he is safely out of the dungeon.
- an old sailor (-Lvl 5-) who just wants out of this fscking dungeon. The party should care because he is the Sacred Fool of the cleric’s religion and cannot be harmed. (Actual aiding is optional, but is recommended for ambitious holy men).
- a callous huntsman (-Lvl 1-) who intends to stir up dissent within a faction (the goblins, the cultists, whatever) in the dungeon. The party should care because he is actually part faerie, leprechaun or something else enchanting and/or annoying … so if the PCs don’t help him, things may get a bit “whimsical”.
