- (1840s) Mentioned in Dispatches during the New Zealand Wars as Artillery Corporal with Lieutenant Colonel Henry Despard against Ohaeawai Pa in 1845.
- (1870s) Mentioned in Dispatches during in the Franco-Prussian War with the Württemberg in the battle of Sedan as a Cavalry Sergeant Major, he died there from Friendly Fire.
