Space Combat

• The ship takes a fatal hit to the engine core, and explodes into a brilliant ball of unstable energy and molten heavy metal. The crew never stood a chance of survival.
• The spaceship self-destructs. All crew members meet a brief and relatively painless death.
• The crippled spacecraft makes it to a nearby asteroid with minutes of life support to spare.
• The spacecraft is too badly damaged to maneuver, but gravity and good fortune see the crew touch down at a nearby dock.
• The spacecraft is too badly damaged to fly, and drifts into an uninhabited solar system where the crew ultimately perish.
